Description

The Damast Santoku Micarta Jewels knife from Shinrai Japan is a multifunctional Japanese knife. You can use a santoku knife to cut, chop and slice vegetables, meat and fish. A santoku knife can be recognized by the high blade where the back of the blade slopes only close to the point. An advantage of a santoku knife is that they are lighter than most European kitchen knives and are therefore slightly easier to handle.

This edition of the Micarta Jewels Series is finished to perfection. The Japanese damask steel blade continues in the beautiful Micarta jewellery bolster. Micarta is made of several layers of linen that are pressed together with synthetic resin under high pressure. These 3 inlaid jewel rings provide a unique and beautiful composition. The wood of the handle is made of sustainable pakka wood.

In addition, the handle is made in one piece, without rivets. This makes it completely maintenance-free and the risk of cracks or other damage is minimal.

  • 67 layers of Japanese VG-10 damask steel
  • Hardened to 61 HRC Rockwell
  • Razor-sharp santoku knife with a blade of 18 centimeters.
  • Comes in a luxury gift box
  • The best in its price range

Shinrai Japan's knives are unique as most of them are handmade. Both sides of the knife consist of 33 layers of the best Japanese steel. These layers are placed against a layer of VG10 steel, giving you a knife of 67 layers. This is also called Damask steel. The production technique is centuries old and results in stronger and harder knives. This makes the knives indispensable for every kitchen.
